The small town of LaLuz is the oldest in the Tularosa Basin and was established where there is water available. This is the stream that feeds the town. It is some of the only flowing water in the area and generally a good place to look for wildlife. This crossing of the erosion channel of the stream illustrates how deep the water can get during a flash flood during a thunderstorm. At the time of this picture, February, very little water is in the channel.
