By the time we got to this rest stop, the temperatures were near 10 C and it was warm enough to walk outside with light coats. It is such a relief to be able to do this and not have to put on heavy coats to get out of the car. It was not quite warm enough, yet, to eat our lunch outside. This day we went on into Tennessee and traveled its height from the border to Chattanooga and into Alabama. This was one of our longest days on the road and we traveled over 900 km. Truck traffic was a real tension builder while driving and we were glad to turn off the major routes to the secondary I-59 in Alabama in the late afternoon. We stayed near Gadsden for the night.
